The Problem
The Solution
Pay
Pay a friend by name, scan a code, or paste a link. Sovran picks the right route, so you just confirm and send.

Ask
Pick a model and top it up from your wallet. Pay for what you use, with no card and no subscription.

Tap
Hand Bitcoin to a friend standing next to you over Bluetooth, or tap to pass it phone to phone. The cash is already on your device.

Open by design
Sovran is built in the open, on protocols and tools you can read, run, and fork β so you are not locked into us. We are still opening the last pieces, and moving more of what we run into your hands over time.
FAQ
Sovran is a Bitcoin wallet and a social app rolled into one. You can hold and send money, post to a public feed, message friends, and chat with AI β all from a single app that you control, not a company. It's your money and your voice, finally in the same place.
Yes β with one honest caveat. Your money lives on your phone as digital cash that only you can spend, and the provider behind it can never see your balance or seize your tokens. What that provider does hold is the Bitcoin backing your balance, so if it vanished, that backing could go too. It is not a bank, but it is not risk-free either: pick providers you trust, spread your money across a few, and lean on the track records Sovran shows you. For the honest, detailed take, see iscashucustodial.com.
When you set up Sovran, you get one recovery phrase: a short list of words that stands in for your whole account. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe β a screenshot isn't enough. With it you can restore your wallet and your identity on a new phone; without it, no one (not even us) can get the account back.
Not in any way someone could exploit. Your public identity and your wallet both come from your one recovery phrase, but on separate branches of it β so the key behind your public profile can never reach your money. Even if you share your profile, or that key leaks, your funds stay locked away: only the full recovery phrase can open the wallet. And because the two are kept apart, people can find you and pay you without ever seeing what you hold.
Yes. When you're next to someone, you can pass Bitcoin straight from your phone to theirs β over Bluetooth, or with a quick NFC tap, the same way you'd tap a card. You can also tap a point-of-sale terminal like Numo to pay at a shop. The money's already on your device, so it all works with no signal β at a festival, on a flight, or anywhere off the grid.
Mostly, and openly. The app is developed in public β you can read the code, run it, and build your own version. A few pieces are still closed while we tidy them up, and we are opening the rest out in the open, so you can check our work rather than take our word for it.
Sovran is on iPhone today, with home screen and lock screen widgets so you can pay in a tap without even opening the app. Android is on the way.

Social
Nostr, without the noise.
Sovran groups and ranks in the background, so your notifications stay quiet and your feed leads with what people actually engaged with. You decide who gets through, and the pile-ons collapse into one calm summary instead of a firehose.
